Opening hours 2022

Because we run Off Grid Kit here from Lackan Cottage Farm alongside our accommodation and training businesses, we increasingly found in 2021 that maintaining a healthy balance between it all was becoming more tricky. A lot of time is typically spent answering similar queries from customers, so we’ve started a Frequently Asked Questions page, and are asking that before you call, you take a look at it. Nine times out of ten, someone calls, we then ask them to work out how much energy they use, and email us the information, so it will save time if we start with that information. As well as answering the many questions that people (quite rightly) have about energy systems, many people now take advantage of having the main components of their kit pre-built onto a board. Each board takes about a day to build and test properly.

So in 2022, whilst orders will be processed daily – Monday to Friday, we will only responding to email or phone enquiries from 10 amTuesday – Friday 4pm. We do get back to everyone who calls, so if we don’t get to the phone, leave your number or email us. Email is always better in the first instance because then we have a record of what it is you’re after, and can refer back to it. Once we’ve an idea what it is you need, then is a good time to answer questions in person on the phone.

It looks likely that supply chains and distribution will continue to be disrupted into 2022. We’re being realistic with our delivery times, and if we think something will take an unusually long time to fulfil, we will let you know and give you the chance to cancel the order or wait until the component arrives.

Off Grid Kit remains a small family business, so sometimes we can’t take on more work, and we’ll let you know if that’s the case. We’d rather be up front about that than keep people waiting unnecessarily. We’d rather have a smaller number of happy customers than a lot more unhappy ones.
